Vicki Hartzler has the most to lose this quarter because she’s relied on her own money to keep pace with Stouffer.  If she falls behind here, there’ll be pressure to fold in behind Stouffer to avoid a costly primary which could derail the slim chance of knocking off the incumbent Democrat.

On the other side of that primary, Sen. Bill Stouffer want to try to emerge as clearly the stronger candidate.  In this respect they’ll mostly in competition with each other rather than an outside standard.

As a rural Democrat in a conservative district, Skelton wanted to add to his war-chest which stood at $600k last quarter.  He did. Substantially.  He released his year-end totals and he’s now at $966,727.
