Welcome to the new ArchCityChronicle.com

A couple months ago we asked you for your input and suggestions for changes to the Arch City Chronicle. You are now looking at the new, improved version of our website.

There will still be regular updates of political news, but we're labeling it "Local Politics", rather than the old ACC News.

And we're adding a Soapbox, which consists of weekly opinion columns from local folks. There's plenty of opportunity for you to comment.

There's also a new section for everyone who likes to eat. Our resident Foodie will review restaurants, wines and write about different things of interest. Again, you are encouraged to comment.

Those of you who regularly check the latest postings to "Comments" have noted a huge spam problem.
We believe the only way we can overcome this is to ask you for registration if you wish to comment. There's no need to give us your actual name, but we require a valid email address so we can isolate spam and block its source.

Thanks for your understanding, and for your support of the Arch City Chronicle. We are hoping to bring you additional new material in the future which will make your visits to the ACC website even more enlightening and entertaining.

Cable, Internet News Sources Growing In Popularity

Amid announcements from the Tribune Company, National Public Radio, and Newsweek last week of cutbacks to deal with extreme economic pressures, Gallup's update on Americans' go-to news sources reveals little encouragement for these media. Among daily news sources, only cable and Internet news have shown significant gains in popularity since 2006, while all other media are stable or declining.
